Introduction:
Taurine also known as β- amino acid, first isolated from the bezoar out, so named. Pure product is colorless or white ramp-like crystals, odorless, taurine chemically stable, insoluble in ether and other organic solvents, it is a non-protein amino acids containing sulfur, in the presence of the body in a free state, do not participate in in vivo protein biosynthesis. Taurine, while not involved in protein synthesis, but it and cystine, is closely related to the metabolism of cysteine. Human taurine synthesis cysteine sulfite carboxylase (CSAD) activity is low, mainly rely on food intake of taurine to meet the body needs.
